An Evening of Queer Asian Words & Music

Join us as we celebrate the extraordinary contributions of Queer Asian writers and musicians to Vancouver's rich cultural ecology. From C. E. Gatchalian's erotic interplay of language and silence to Larissa Lai's finely honed intersections of the personal and the political, topped by the quirky, plaintive wistfulness of singer/songwriter Aaron Chan, QUEERASIAN will be an evening of passion, poetry, celebration and resistance.

Featured artists include C. E. GatchalianHiromi Goto,Lydia KwaLarissa LaiProma Tagore and Rita Wong, with music by Aaron Chan and a short, sexy film called "Bend In the River (or Falling In Time)." Hosted by Vancouver actor and director Rick Tae.

ADMISSION: Sliding scale between $10-$20 (no one will be turned away due to lack of funds)



Presented by SCREAMING WEENIE PRODUCTIONS, Western Canada's professional Queer theatre company.

Community partner: RAINBOW REFUGEE COMMITTEE/LEGIT VANCOUVER.

Note: The Rhizome Cafe's kitchen is fully licensed, and their kitchen is open before and during events.
